AdSense or AdDynamo?

I see many South African web sites switched to Addynamo.

AdDynamo is a Pay per Click engine, similar to Google Adsense and Adwords. What I like about AdDynamo is that they have the advertising and publishing side on the same site, not like Google where it is two different sites with two different names.

I prefer to support local business where I can and I think Google is operating their business in a mafia way, so I decided to give it a try.

At first the AdDynamo ads do take some time before they serve the correct ads on your site. For a rather long time all you see is an AdDynamo ad.

Once the ads are displayed it works very while and there are no problems with implementing the script.

On the sites I tested I received a eCPM of between R3 and R7 depending on the web site.

This is still lower than my Adsense income but it is a good start for a new venture. I am sure as more businesses advertise on this service the more relevant the ads will become and the higher the CPM.

In my opinion Adsense remains the most successful ad network because the ads they serve are mostly relevant to the page.

AdDynamo is a good alternative for Adsense but at this stage the income (mine anyway)  is not better than Adsense yet. If your Adsense account has been suspended for some reason (which Mafia Google often do at the moment) then AdDynamo is the best to go for.

I tested the ads on my free classifieds site, on this blog, on my AfricaTrips site and PhotoSA

If you are an advertiser you can also place ads with Ad Dynamo. You place a text or banner ad and they will then display your ad on web sites which serve their ads.

Give them a try, their web site is at http://www.addynamo.com/

For now I will still be running AdDynamo on some web sites but will not substitute the Adsense ads yet, although I would love to do it.

Hello! Do NOT go with Ad dynamo they rip you off, they wait till you earn good money from clicks then they start removing loads of money from your earnings making excuses its invalid clicks, i am not the only one suffering from this , they are a scamming site! sure they took nothing from your $20 but why would they thats nothing, when they can take earnings from the big fish who make $1,900 a month earnings and they take over half of that. this company is a FAIL

We have been using Ad dynamo for a while on http://www.adsfinder.co.za , their pay per click is very high compared to Adsense but to make money with Ad dynamo needs loads of traffic as their CTR is very low compared to Adsense due to lack of advertisers, but i hope with time Ad dynamo will give Adsense a good run for their money even though it don’t look like it will happen anytime from now, what I like about them is that they are the fastest when it comes to payment .. but I find making money with Adsense and offerforge pretty easy and simple for our sites.. Anyway I must say I’m proud with Ad dynamo

    Hi Pieter,

I’ve just signed up with Ad Dynamo and find the set up process relatively simple. It seems that for the first 3 days now, only Ad Dynamo ads have been displayed. How long did it take you to start receiving adverts relevant to your content?

    Thanks!

I think addynamo will def improve once more advertisers start using them. Its great that someone is giving google competition. I use addynamo as google sent me an email to say they cancelled my account due to fraudulant clicks.

    Hi Pieter,

I use addynamo on my site and have had similiar issues, but remain committed to Addynamo on my blog. I have not made a lot of money, but my blog is new and I am still learning.

As always, thanks for the post.

Thanks for taking time to address my issues Sean. What I will do is I will use FreeOnlineAds.co.za as my test station. I will convert it back to AdDynamo ads and see how it goes. I will also report back on this post if there is an improvement.

Thanks for the experiment, Pieter. We work very hard to out-perform AdSense for our publishers & in many cases succeed.

Some pointers that I can contribute are:
    1. The insurance and casino advertisers typically bid high. This can often force other valid advertisers out. However, you do have the functionality as a publisher to exclude these advertisers if you like.

    2. Google reports on eCPM on a page impression basis, and Ad Dynamo reports on a eCPM on a channel basis, however, AdSense does allow you to report on an eCPM on a channel basis & this is the best way to compare earnings.

On the information relating to advertising; many of the cheap clicks are no longer available – but this is obviously better for you as a publisher. From your screen shot above, you earned nearly R 4 per click – and if we were selling clicks as cheap as Google, this would not be possible.

We do not believe that Ad Dynamo is an attractive ad platform because it is cheap – rather it is effective. In fact, activating Google Analytics reporting on your campaign will help to highlight that the traffic purchased through Ad Dynamo regularly has a lower bounce rate and higher conversion rate than that generated from Google AdWords.
