Books for Success
I created a page where I added (and will continue to add) the most meaningful books I have read over the years.
Because blog posts tend to get lost as you add new ones I decided to add these books to a fixed page instead.
The page with my top books is at

S.A Government makes huge profits from crime.
Question: “What is the influence of crime on the S.A. Govt?”
Answer: Crime generates millions and millions of Rand’s for the SA Government Here are the facts….
Example 1: Take just one million home owners in Gauteng who pay for “armed crime reaction” (not crime prevention) where private security companies react AFTER the crime has taken place – no wonder they never make any arrests!
This service costs on average R250 p.m.
Therefore 1,000,000 x R240.00 x 12 months x 14% VAT, generates R403 million in tax revenue for the SA Govt!…. Read more »
After yesterday’s budget speech the whole South Africa is talking Budget today.
It is sad to say that although the ANC have this vision of jobs and riches for everybody they managed to push SOuth Africa up the ladder to one of the countries with the highest unemployment rate in the world. After 16 years of ANC rule most people are worst off financially than with the previous government.
I see one of Mr Gordhan’s main concerns are job creation. They think they can flash money around and create jobs with money.
I wonder if Mr Gordhan realise that his employer created such ridiculous labour laws that is is very hard for employers to hire or fire anybody. Because of this (an minimum wages) it just makes sense for a business to have as little employees as possible and use automation as far as possible. So where the government thought they will force businesses to pay people more and not fire them so easily, all they did was to put millions of people out of jobs.

South Africa’s politics is probably in the worst state it has been in history. We are ruled by a bunch of greedy clowns who’s only concern is to line their pockets with gold at the cost of their own people. That might not be news to Africa, it is very much Mugabe style.
I received the article below which was written by former Pres. Mbeki’s brother Moeletsi Mbeki. I always wonder why our country can’t be run by wise men like him. Why must we have a guy who was charged with rape and fraud in charge of our lovely country?
If you read the article below it makes you think that there might be a sparkle of light somewhere in the tunnel.
It all boils down to “If you give a man fish, you feed hom for a day, if you teach a man how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime”. I agree with Mr Mbeki that this whole BEE and affirmative action idea created a lazy society who feel that they are entitled to everything without having to think or work.
I can predict when SA’s “Tunisia Day” will arrive. Tunisia Day is when the masses rise against the powers that be, as happened recently in Tunisia. The year will be 2020, give or take a couple of years. The year 2020 is when China estimates that its current minerals-intensive industrialisation phase will be concluded.

Moeletsi Mbeki
For SA, this will mean the African National Congress (ANC) government will have to cut back on social grants, which it uses to placate the black poor and to get their votes. China’s current industrialisation phase has forced up the prices of SA’s minerals, which has enabled the government to finance social welfare programmes.
The ANC inherited a flawed, complex society it barely understood; its tinkerings with it are turning it into an explosive cocktail. The ANC leaders are like a group of children playing with a hand grenade. One day one of them will figure out how to pull out the pin and everyone will be killed.
A famous African liberation movement, the National Liberation Front of Algeria, after tinkering for 30 years, pulled the grenade pin by cancelling an election in 1991 that was won by the opposition Islamic Salvation Front. In the civil war that ensued, 200000 people were killed. … Read more »
Most of my regular readers noticed that my last post was on 8 November 2010 and that was where I said I will stop selling my eBook
I received numerous requests for my eBook and some concerned readers asked why I stopped posting on my blog.
The reason is that I decided to take some time off. To rethink the whole work from home concept.
I received many emails asking if it is possible to earn money online or if it is just a pie in the sky concept.
I received many emails of people who desperately need an income. I think it is mostly these emails that made me decide to stop selling my eBook. There are people in great need out there and I cannot supply them with a quick solution.
You see, that is it with everything I do, it makes me money but it takes time to get there. Unfortunately 99% of the people wait until they are in trouble before they start looking for a way to make money. They then look for the quick fix and that is the BIGGEST mistake you can ever make.
The moment you become a quick fix seeker you become vulnerable to all scams and empty promises. Besides getting ripped of you sometimes also loose out on good opportunities because you are looking for a quick fix. Sometimes you subscribe to a very good opportunity, but you are a quick fix seeker and because you do not see results within a month or to you quit. You become a quitter. Unfortunately many quitters also bad mouth the opportunity which did not bring them instant riches.
The biggest problem with all of this is because people wait until it is too late. While they are earning an income they do not even think about starting something on the sideline for in case something happens to their salary. They just go along, happy in their comfort zone until the day the brown stuff hit the fan. But before that they just go with the flow, like dead fish.
LESSON – DO NOT wait until it is too late. Start something NOW, whether you need the money or not.
The next question I often receive is “Is this stuff really working?”
Well the answer to above question depends 100% on yourself…. Read more »

Our Corrupt Government
Normally I would like to stay out of politics but today I had a laugh when I read the newspaper online.
I was reading the article of the new premier who just spent R1.1 million of our tax money to buy a new Beemer while she already have a 2 year old 730d which she bought at R900,000 two years ago. (See “NW premier to splurge R1.1m on new luxury car”)
In the related links at the bottom I followed some other related stories and this is where I spotted the irony.
Look at the following two articles:
- Zuma govt blows R1.5bn on luxuries
- Leaders must burst out of their bling bubbles
In the first article we see good examples how our current government enrich themselves and spend billions of our countries money to maintain their status and high living.
In the next article we see how our dear Mr Zuma visited some informal settlement and pretend to be shocked about their poor living conditions. “Visiting Sweetwaters settlement this week, the president was moved to tears by the conditions of his fellow citizens who lived, he said, in conditions ill-befitting even animals.”
For the past 16 years the ANC government made very sure that they enrich themselves and their families with state money. Now Mr Zuma pretends to be shocked about the conditions in informal settlements which are there because of his government’s inability to perform. Seems like they are so focused about enriching themselves that they do not care about the others.

Expert Help
I attended a talk at the local Business Forum a while ago about expert help you can get for your business.
The speaker was introduced as somebody who can give (almost) free expert advice to small businesses.
My first reactions was “Ye, sure, some government organization help all the poor “previously disadvantaged” business people while forgetting about the currently disadvantaged people”
I am happy to say that I was totally WRONG.
This is an excellent concept and it boils down to the fact that if your business meets the criteria you can get an expert in the field to come and assist you to take your business to the next level at almost no cost. Read more »

Kick the Vuvu Out
The most idiotic instrument ever invented.
South Africa is currently hosting the biggest sporting event ever but unfortunately a small plastic device is ruining it all for spectators.
I find it extremely hard to watch a game with all these vuvucraps making a dreadful noise.
Unfortunately somebody started to spread the word that the “Vuvuzela is part of the South African tradition”
It might be the tradition of a handful of football fans but it is not a tradition of all South Africans.
On one Football forum a guy from the USA said
I feel bad for fans like you. I was so looking forward to an African cup and seeing more African traditions yet all I get is stupid plastic horns and that is what South Africa will be remembered for.
I hope that they will soon ban the Vuvuzelas from the 2010 World Cup. Read more »

Soccer?
It is very frustrating to see what power the mafia FIFA has over South Africa.
Obviously what they do is not to the benefit of the country but to the benefit of their own pockets.
I wonder who in our government received how big bribes to bring the silly soccer to South Africa?
It is said that South Africa so far spent R63 Billion on infrastructure for the world cup soccer, while the country has a huge unemployment figure and people living in shacks and dreadful conditions. With the R63 billion we could provide housing for more than 600,000 families in South Africa. Or we could provide food for a year to 5 million poor people in South Africa.
What upsets me even more is the way FIFA bully and manipulate everybody in the country. I see in this morning’s City Press (sorry, that article has been deleted, try this link) that our country will not even be allowed to charge FIFA tax on most of the revenue they bring in. Thus they will bring the money into the country and take it out with them without South Africa ever seeing a cent of benefit from it.
Here is an excerpt of the article:
A senior government official said: “Fifa are a bunch of thugs. Not even the UN expects you to sign away your tax base. These mafiosos do.” Read more »

Home typing job
So-, Aunty Joan did it! Congrats
About two years ago met Joan Masterson for coffee at Tygervalley. I think we “know” each other for more than 6 years now. You know, the way Internet people “know” each other. When we met in Tygervalley it was the first time we saw each other in real life after communicating online for 3 or 4 years.
Anyway, we were chatting about making money and earning online. At some stage I told here that I found that most people are just looking for something where they can do something online and get paid for it and if you can figure a way to give people a real job online and pay them for it you will be very busy. Most people do not want to do work online and only get paid commission for it.

Morning Coffee Plugin
Here are some tips for FireFox users.
If you are not using FireFox yet then you are loosing out big time on an Internet experience of a lifetime and I suggest you change to FireFox. Get it at http://www.firefox.com
I will add tips as I discover and implement it. I just love working with FireFox and there are some real nifty plugins you can use to make it work better for you.
1. Open search results in new tab.
When you use the search function in the toolbar of FireFox it opens the results in the same window or tab as where you are currently working. This drives me nuts as I would like to keep the page where I am working open.
You can set FireFox to open the search results in a new tab, this is how: Read more »
