Morning Coffee Plugin
Here are some tips for FireFox users.
If you are not using FireFox yet then you are loosing out big time on an Internet experience of a lifetime and I suggest you change to FireFox. Get it at http://www.firefox.com
I will add tips as I discover and implement it. I just love working with FireFox and there are some real nifty plugins you can use to make it work better for you.
1. Open search results in new tab.
When you use the search function in the toolbar of FireFox it opens the results in the same window or tab as where you are currently working. This drives me nuts as I would like to keep the page where I am working open.
You can set FireFox to open the search results in a new tab, this is how: Read more »

DealFish
PLEASE NOTE: DealFish changed their name to Kalahari Ads – http://www.kalahariads.net/
I recently had the opportunity to promote a new free classifieds web site as an affiliate. I must say that before the affiliate campaign was launched I did not even know about DealFish (the new site)
I nether understood why people rave about Gumtree and why Gumtree was the third busiest web site in South Africa. But they must be doing something right because everybody use them. Personally I do not like it at all.
So I am very happy that there is an alternative to Gumtree.
Both sites are rather easy to use and it is easy to register and place an ad.
On the searching and browsing side I prefer DealFish purely because they do not have all the Google Adsense ads between the real ads. I find the Google ads on Gumtree very confusing and I guess they do not mind that their users confuse the adsense ads with the actual listed ads. Each time when a user accidentally click on the Google ad instead of the real ad they get paid for it, so would it bother them? Read more »

Is this your child?
Did you know that you use less brain power to watch TV than to sleep?
No wonder research shows that watching TV has a direct negative influence on your child’s performance at school.
While watching TV you teach your brain to do nothing and when getting back in real live your brain becomes too lazy to do anything.
But hey, I am no child expert, here are some good articles to prove the point:
TV drags down grades
“We found a relationship between watching TV for longer hours on school days and worse school performance,” said study author Dr Iman Sharif, an associate professor of Read more »

Most Money
A questions which frequently lands in my inbox;
“What is making you the most money?”
A while ago somebody wrote me an email saying that the methods I talk about in my eBook are old and not the latest and the greatest. Regular readers will know how I feel about the “latest and the greatest”
When I give you the figures below you will see why I am still writing about the old trusted ways of making money in my eBook.
As many of you might know I make money online in various ways. I mostly use my web sites to serve ads to thousands of visitors each month. I then use these traffic rich web sites to either sell ad space, make money from “pay per click”, refer my clients to somebody else and getting paid for it or I promote my own product to these visitors in order to make money by selling my own products online.
So, what is making me the most money?
I took the income I earn from my main pure online ventures and calculated the percentages. These are only the methods which earns me a noticeable income (more than R1,000 per month)

I received these photos by email today.
This was a protest at the South African embassy in Sweden.
And here we sat and thought the whole world have forgotten us. I am glad to see that the other countries see what is going on here.
By the way, if you are an International reader and you are considering coming here for the world cup soccer, don’t come. South Africa is not a save place to be. These people will kill you for ten bucks or your mobile phone. Don’t even think about bringing your wife and children here. In South Africa a mob of 5 will rape your wife while their buddies (the other 10) beat you to death with a iron rod.
To the guys and girls in Sweden, well done and thanx a million for making your voices heard. Not that I think it will mean anything to those in charge of our country, but thanx anyway, we have to start somewhere.
The protest march by the Swedish Resistance Movement, under the slogan ”Stop the Boer Genocide!”, took place in Stockholm on Saturday 17th of April, without any major disturbances.

The Eyjafjallajokull Volcano is causing havoc over the whole world.
I received this email from a friend. I do not know who the original author is but I think he did en excellent job compiling this email. I thought it would be interesting to share since so many people wonder what this volcano is all about and what it looks like.

I received this by email and I think it is a brilliant way to explain socialism to those who do not really understand what it means. Currently in South Africa there are a group of people (normally the under achievers) who thinks that socialism is the solution to poverty:
An economics professor at a local college made the statement that he had never failed a single student before but had once failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

FNB clients can now link their PayPal accounts to their FNB accounts.
I linked my bank account this morning. At first the system did not want to work and after 5 attempts I realised that FNB must have spend a fortune to develop a system which is not working in all browsers. In the end I switched to Internet Explorer and 10 minutes later I linked my PayPal account to my FNB account and withdraw $114 from my PayPal account to test it.
Once you setup the system it works very easy and the commission for doing a withdraw is very low.
If you would like to withdraw your PayPal funds you must have a FNB account and an Internet Banking account with FNB.
You can get more details at http://www.fnb.co.za
I am glad to see that more and more Internet users and coming to their senses and start using a better browser to view the Internet.
I make no secret of the fact that I very much dislikes Internet Explorer because of its inability to cope with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) This results in web sites not displaying as they should and the users not enjoying their browsing experience as much as they could if they used another browser. Internet Explorer created a head ache for web developers as you always have to build in extra functionality to let IE understand your web pages which other browsers understand by default.
The only reason IE is the most used web browser in the world is because that is the default browser that gets installed if you install a Microsoft operating system. Most people, especially novice Internet users, do not know that they can use anything else.
I notice from my web stats that on some web sites only about 40% of the visits came from Internet Explorer users.
Below is a screen shot from the stats:

Buy DVDs and Books online
This is a nice way to make some extra cash. The service is provided by one of the most trusted internet sites in South Africa.
Kalahari.net launched their new Marketplace.
The email they sent me confused me a bit at first. I thought one can sell any books on their site using the marketplace. But when I tested the system I found that you can only sell second hand books simular to the new books they have listed on their site.
So if they are selling XYZ by B Bean and you have a new or second hand copy of the same book available, you can list it on the site and they will sell it on your behalf. They take the order and you fullfil the order.
What I find amazing is that they do not charge you anything for this. I give Kalahari 10 out of ten for this idea and I hope that other businesses will learn that sometimes you have to give in order to receive.
You can not only sell books this way but also DVDs, CDs and Games.
To start listing your unwanted goods go to http://www.kalahari.net/marketplace
