Google Chrome
UPDATE: I found a cure for my slow browser, click here to see what I did.
I have been using FireFox for the past couple of years. Since a couple of days ago I enjoyed using FireFox for browsing the Internet.
But after the last two updates FireFox became very slow. I checked the memory usage and realised that it sometimes use as much as 180Mb of memory. This was with one window and 7 tabs open. So it is nothing serious yet….
First I thought it was all the extensions so I deleted all of them except for Xmarks. The problem persisted.
I then tried using Safari, but it is not much better. It went up to 85Mb of memory under the same conditions.
Then I tried Google Chrome. Under the same conditions Chrome only uses about 43Mb of memory. So it is much faster than FireFox. I do miss the ability to use the extensions I was useed to in FireFox but I quickly worked my way around it.
I still have FireFox installed just in case I need to view a web site with something like the “webdeveloper” extension.
But for my general day to day task I now use Chrome and it saves me lots of time and frustration.
Besides it being faster I just love the “ctrl click” function which opens new pages in new tabs without going away from your current open tab.

@Bennie – Have a look at my latest post at http://pietpetoors.com/blog/speed-up-your-firefox-browser/ . That will help to make your FireFox faster.
I upgraded to FireFox 3.5 tonight and it seems as if there is a slight improvement. With two tabs open I am still using 72Mb of memory but overall it seems as if it is opening the web sites quicker.
Pieter, I have the same problem. Since the last three upgrades my Firefox also became very slow. I think I will use your advice and start using Chrome. I don’t even use plugins for Firefox so the fact that Chrome don’t have it will not even worry me. Thanks for the tip
