What Really Makes Money
What Really Makes Money On the Internet?
There are Zillions of offers on the Internet. If you try to understand all of these offers you will most certainly suffer an information overload. You will not know where to start, which ones to tackle and which ones to ignore.
Even worse if you try and pursue all of them you will probably go bankrupt within a month or two.
There are only a handful of ways to make money on the Internet and most of the offers are based on these concepts.
Here is a short article that will explain to you how you can really make money on the Internet:
If you really want to make money on the Internet, please read the full article. Do not read the first paragraph, decide you cannot do it and leave. Or you can leave if you want to, but you will be loosing out big time.
If you look at most successful web sites which are generating a good income you will note that they are filled with ads. I do not talk about “Money Making” web sites, I now talk about real web sites like news, property, financial, etc web sites. Even popular web sites like Facebook make their money from ads.
If you start you own little web site you will obviously not be able to attract the big name companies to advertise on your web site. Before you can get people to advertise on your site you need to drive traffic to your web site (get people to visit it). In my experience companies will not look at your site while you get less than 20,000 visits per month.
But how do you get companies to advertise on your site if you are still new? You have to start somewhere?
There are ways and means.
You can make use of affiliate programs. An Affiliate program is a venture where you sign up as an affiliate for a company or affiliate broker. You get your own unique URL to put on your site in order to promote the product or service. When a visitor clicks the link the affiliate software will track the link and record that the client was referred by you. If a certain action was fulfilled at the other side, you will get paid a commission. Mostly the action will be that the client must buy something and you get paid a percentage of the order as commission. In some cases companies pays you when you successfully referred a lead, whether he buys or not. Some campaigns will pay you each time a visitor clicks your link and some will pay you for every 1,000 or 10,000 times their banners has been displayed on your web site.
Many companies offer in house affiliate programs but when you start off fresh I suggest you begin with the affiliate networks. They get companies to promote their services via them. They tend to be more reliable when it comes to payments.
Some of the best affiliate networks you can join are:
- Offerforge
- South African - TrafficSynergy- South African
- ShareaSale- International
- Commission Junction- International
- DGM Pro- Mostly UK
With most of these affiliate networks you would be required to have your own web site before they will approve your account.
You can get a large number of different size banners to display on your web site or blog, each with its own unique tracking code. A good example is the banners at the top of each page of this blog.
Another great source of ads you can display on your web site is Google Adsense and Peppor
Google Adsense is very well known and probably the most successful Internet based money making program in history. I wrote a short article at http://in2im.com/adsense/ explains what Google Adsense is and how you can profit from it.
With Adsense you get paid each time somebody clicks on one of the ads, whether he buys something or not. If you read some of my income updates you will see that Adsense is my biggest earner and has been for the past couple of years, click here to read one of my income reports.
Peppor – You can use Peppor to advertise your web site or services and you can use it to make money from your web site. Go to http://www.peppor.com and register for both a Vendor and Advertiser account. Don’t worry, it is free.
When you log into your account you will see that you can place a code on your site which will display little text ads on your web site. When somebody clicks the ads you will get paid either per click or per sale.
Google does not always serve very good ads on Afrikaans sites. Peppor’s ads is not very attractive or nice looking, but it works better on an Afrikaans site than Adsense.
Once you created your web site or blog, all you then have to do is drive traffic to your web site, ie. get people to visit it.
What must my site or blog be about?
The best thing you can do is to start a web site or blog on a topic you know. It is easier to start with something you are good at or something that is your hobby or passion.
However some topics are more popular than others, thus it would be easier to drive traffic to popular subject web sites or blogs. A good way to determine what is popular is to go to a site like http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/
When doing a search use “trigger words” when doing a search for popular terms. These “trigger words” can include words like learn, training, instruction, tip, tutorial, help, how to, buy, order or play. Just add one of these words in one of the search pages mentioned above and you will see which phrases are in high demand.
Another great place to see what is in high demand is to go to http://pulse.ebay.com and see what is the top 10 items on eBay.
To setup your own web site or blog you can use free services like http://www.blogger.com or http://www.weebly.com but if you are serious about earning an income online I suggest that you get your own domain and setup your own web site on it. At http://www.createyourownwebsite.co.za you can purchase a set of videos where I show exactly how you can create the same type of web site which I personally use to make money online. The videos takes you from where you register your domain to where you have a full functional money generating web site.
You can also join a MLM program and add its banners or links to your web site. In fact there is no difference between an affiliate program and an online MLM program. The only difference is that with the MLM you earn on different levels (also called tiers) but the concept remains the same. You get a unique link, promote it and get paid for successful business. The best such business to use for your web site is http://www.bemotivatedtoday.com/. It is easy to understand, affordable and it converts like crazy (many people sign up).
Conclusion
There might be huge buzz around all type of Internet programs and systems. In the end they all sell something. They either sell advertising space on their own web site or they sell a product or service. With some programs you will have refer clients to buy their product or eBook with others you will have to refer clients to sign up for their service. Both ways you will be referring your visitors, friends and clients to another company, web site or person and get paid a commission for it. There is no “magical” system where you will just register, sit back, relax and earn a fortune. It does not exist. If you do not believe me at least start your own web site and blog, get it up and running and then continue your search for the magical system. At least then you will be earning an income while you search.
95% of people who knock on my door need a quick fix or a fast way to make money on the Internet. It does not exist either. I cannot help you if that is what you are looking for. Everything I do takes time but once you created your web site it will earn you an income 24/7
In my eBook “Creating an ongoing Passive Income” which I am selling at www.passive-income.co.za I explain exactly how to get started and how to implement all of above.
