Camping at Marakele Nature Reserve

This is the small section of the nature reserve. On this side of the park you will see a lot of game. After you entered the main gate you just follow the road for 2 Km straight into the camp.

When you get into the camping site turn left at the first road. You will see some camping site in front of you. About 200 meters behind these camping sites is a water hole. So these are the prime camping sites. If you go to view game and you stand on one of these sites you do not have to drive anywhere to view game. You can sit in front of your tent the whole week and the game will come to you.

The evening when we entered the camping site there were two Rhinos and a Rhino calf at the water.

The camping site is clean and well looked after. The soil is flat and you will not have problems with a normal tent. The camping sites is next to the veld. Some of the sites do have electricity and braais.

The ablution blocks are excellent. Neat, clean, hot water and most of all it is wheel chair friendly.

As I said you can sit in front of your tent and view the game from there. We saw the most game from the camping site and not from our game drives. The following two pictures were taken from my camping site
