The farm swartberg has a 4x4 trail which is still in its beginning phase. The farm is next to the well know game farm, Buffelsfontein. On the farm is a little hill with some erosion areas which offers a great playground for the 4x4 enthusiast.

When we arrived at the farm there were three other vehicle that also went on the route. They were a Nice looking SWB Chev Blazer with V8 and 33" tyres, a Land Cruiser 4.5 Bakkie and an ugly little Isuzu old 4x4 with smooth tyres.

The owner of the farm, Nico Laubscher accompanied us and showed us the route.

The route is mostly farm roads which leads to the erosion areas where some severe challenges faces the drivers. At the firs obstacle we went down a steep embankment.

Going out of this ditch offered the first challenge and the first casualty. There are one very steep exit and then a rather mild exit. First we tried the steep exit. Unfortunately the Isuzu went first and because it is so low it dug nice deep holes in the sand that made it more difficult for the others to get out.
