De Wildt 4x4 Trail

The De Wildt 4x4 trail is situated North of Pretoria on the Pretoria North/Brits road.

Some of my friends rated this route as a game drive. I guess it all depend on your vehicle and your experience. We enjoyed every moment of it.

If you are looking for a nice family outing for the day with ample game, fauna and flora, this route is for you. You can take very nice photographs of Gemsbok, Eland, Wildebees, Zebra, Giraffe, etc.

It might not be what the hardcore 4x4 people are looking for, but for somebody who do not want to damage his vehicle but still want some challenges this is a good track. If you are faint hearted, there are always a detour where you can go around the obstacle. The detours makes it so easy that it is even recommended for 4x2 vehicles. There are also entertainment for after the trail. Picnic area with braai facilities, a swimming pool, lapa, climbing, etc.

Game Viewing, Thatched Lapa, Functions, Conferences, Team building facilities, Braai & Picnic, Swimming Pool, 4x4 Trails, 4x4 Courses, Sports Bar

How to get there:
From Pretoria take the N1- North till you get the N4. Turn left on the N4 towards Rustenburg (new toll road). Take the M17 Pretoria Wes, Garankuwa off ramp and turn left at the end of the off-ramp. At the first road turn right on the R513 towards Brits. About 20Km further on the left you will see the huge sign boards. GPS coordinates: 25' 40' 580 S and 27' 56' 706 E .

Some water features if you want to get away from the busy city life.
Overnight facilities. There are a number of self catering chalets and also a camping site.
Climbing for young and old. Here our 10 year old daughter reaches for the top.
